Come Home to Chiltern 2016

Chiltern North East Victoria AustraliaWelcome to Chiltern Australia

Chiltern is a fascinating historic village, built upon the solid values of its mining heritage. It’s distinguished by carefully preserved streetscapes with historic brick buildings and wooden verandahs.

The miners’ cottages, Athenaeum Museum and Dow’s Pharmacy tell the story of our early pioneers; their struggles and their joys shared by a community with the pioneer vision to become what Chiltern is today – a peaceful, country town nestling in the hills of the spectacular surrounding National Parkland.

Visitors to Chiltern will experience the nostalgia of the past with all the benefits of good, old fashioned hospitality and warmth.

“Witness the parkland awash in the gold and mauve hue of the wild orchids, lilies and the golden wattle, or explore the historic buildings under shady verandahs, whilst enjoying the old world charm and hospitality of Chiltern.” – Chiltern resident

Chiltern Cancer Cruise - Car & Bike Show

A unique event dedicated to the memory of local resident John Jamison. In 2017 we also celebrate the lives of motoring enthusiast and long-time Cruise supporter Dianne Gibbens from Wodonga, as well as lifelong stalwart of the Albury – Wodonga Cancer Foundation - Eric Turner. This is a car and bike show with a difference. Participants are encouraged to bring their car or bike and display it on the banks of Lake Anderson – just a short stroll to Chiltern’s historic streetscape. Some set-up picnics by the Lake… others take a leisurely stroll around the Lake or to one of the quality food and coffee shops in nearby Conness Street. The relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by enthusiasts sharing details of their vehicle without a hint of competition! This day is all about community... friendship… sharing your passion… and relaxing. It is also about fundraising with ALL donations going to the Albury-Wodonga Cancer Foundation.

Come along… bring a friend… and enjoy yourself. .
