A celebration of life and works of Henry Handel Richardson and the heritage and history of Chiltern.Henry Handel Richardson (pseudonym of author Ethel Florence Richardson) wrote many works including The Getting of Wisdom and a trilogy The Fortunes of Richard Mahony in which in Ultima Thule she describes her experiences in Chiltern.
The event is held on Henry Handel Richard’s birthday, 3 January, each year at historic Lakeview House, where she lived for a short time as a child.

This major spring event celebrates the magnificent parkland, heritage and history of Chiltern. All day entertainment with craft markets, a food court, wood crafts and many children’s activities. Fascinating demonstrations include coopering, post and rail and sheep shearing. Free guided walks are around the town and national park. This town festival is not to be missed.

Super 8 film cameras are still a very popular way of making films today by both professional and amateur filmmakers. The day includes filmmaking workshops and screenings of shirt films by super 8 filmmakers.
