Cycling
Chiltern is fast developing a reputation for being a cycle-friendly town and Chiltern Tourism & Development Inc. is currently working on a range of exciting opportunities in and around Chiltern for all cyclists.
Please come back again soon and see what we have in store for you when you bring your bike to Chiltern. For further information and updates please send your enquiry to bikeriders@chilternvic.com.
The weekend of November 24 – 25 has been set aside for the event which will involve specific rides for 'hard core' cyclists, the determined amateur, social cyclists and cycling families… all on the one weekend.
Chiltern Mo Ride 2012
The Chiltern Mo Ride 2012 is the brainchild of local cycling enthusiast and businessman Matthew Williams who made the connection between his private recreational past-time and the ever present need to raise awareness about men’s health in small Australian communities.
The inaugural Chiltern Mo Ride 2012 will be a feature event on the Chiltern Tourism & Development Inc. calendar and will see Chiltern establish itself as a new centre for cycling in northeast Victoria – beyond the rail trail.
The event will be held to raise funds for Movember. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.

Saturday 24 November
Why not arrive in town early and spend a bit of time exploring? Chiltern has more National Trust buildings than any other town in Victoria with attractions such as Lake View House, the Federal Standard building and Dow's Pharmacy.
There is also Lake Anderson, the Grapevine Museum, the Star Theatre, the Athenaeum Museum and the magnificent Chiltern – Mount Pilot National Park. Combined with accommodation options, cafes, antique and gift shops, there is plenty to keep riders and non-riders entertained.
‘Mo Party’
To kick off the weekend, we will be holding a ‘Mo Party’ on Saturday evening. Not just for the boys, join us for food, drinks, a celebrity guest speaker with lots of laughs and some serious information about men’s health.

The track then returns back under the Freeway where the option is to return to Chiltern or continue onto the Magenta mine and surrounding diggings. A good uphill climb finishes with a pleasant downhill run back into town.
